Cinemin Slice vs SHOWWX+

There are few portable projectors available in the money-making world. Before to 2010, owning a portable iPad projector was sweet much impossible – either since the projectors wern’t portable or the price was too much! Now the promote is being swamped. A huge gap in the promote has been exposed following the relief of Microvision’s SHOWWX and now SHOWWX+. Now queued for relief in January 2011 we have the Cinemin Slice Pico Projector. So let’s take a look at how the two match up!

The Versatile IPod Nano G5 — Video Camera to Pedometer All in One!

The new fifth age group iPod nano is an electronics awesome sight! It packs so many commanding things is such an incredibly small and slick body that it is unbelievable.

All these years I shied away from acquiring an iPod for the austere wits that it may take up so much of my time that my writing and other interests may suffer for want of time. But when I read that the new iPod nano could confirmation and play video clips besides recording voice and music, I sort of started looking at it more inquisitively. I started to read its specifications and its features. When I found that it had world clock which could show me the time in 4 cities nearly the Globe at the same time, stopwatch, alarms, calendar, memo notes, contacts and games it perked up my ears. But the final map which broke my resistance was that it worked as a pedometer as well! That did it! I fell for it and bought it promptly.

But it was my first iPod and first Apple device at that. I had no clue how to work it. I read the insufficient education booklet which was made for persons well habitual with Apple diplomacy and not for a first timer like me. When I switched on the device, I could not run up and down the menu as I tried in vain to press the arrow keys which I was used to on TV remote. I was frustrated beyond words. After an hour or so I exposed the secret of scrolling up and down the menu just by an accident. You have to brush your finger in a circular motion nearly the wheel! Clockwise to go down and anticlockwise to go up the menu! Eureka! I felt overjoyed. The button at the top of the iPod which I presumed was the ON-OFF button did no such thing. Press menu to go back one screen at a time, and draw ring with the thumb on the wheel to brilliant the menu and press the central button to go to the next screen.

I downloaded and installed iTunes on my computer. The curriculum pulled out the music on my hard disc and converted it for the iPod. I connected the iPod and it soon finished synching with the iTunes. Even if iTunes did pick up 2 .mov movie clips from my desk and place them on the iTunes screen they did not synch with the iPod and a msg showed up that it was not a plot which could be played on the iPod nano. Similarly I found that movies which I had shot using my Panasonic camera could not be synched onto the iPod. You need to exchange movies to MP4 plot to load on to the iPod. Later I searched the net and downloaded the software to exchange movies for iPod. You can find it at www(.)e-zsoft(.)com. Even if the movies which I shot with the iPod could be downloaded on my computer and they did play well. The iPod camera is sweet excellent at taking movie clips, even if the position of the lens is a touch one has to get used to.

I was not expecting the iPod to play the music without plugging in the earphones, and was pleasantly bowled over when it did. The sound is excellent quality but the number is barely audible owing to my shirt sack. But you could hold the back of the iPod to your ear and delight in the music by the book without the earphones. The map is salutation when listening to voice notes. With the earphones, the quality of the sound is exceptional.

I was pleased to see that the audio out socket is a full sized one (3.5 mm) and not a mini. I could plug in my music logic in and play the iPod music. It sounded fantastic! Even if I did not get any success before a live audience the video clip owing to the AV cable which I bought unconnectedly. It did not show up on my Panasonic home theatre projector. I took it back to the shop who tried it and said that even if its black carton says iPod nano, it doesn’t seem to work on the newest version. He would give it me as and when he received the new AV cable compatible with the new nano. But this is undoubtedly a blotch on Apple Inc. Why do they not make the accessaries run of the mill to all? It just adds to inventory, makes the older accessaries obsolete and adds to the costs.

I switched on the iPod pedometer place it in my right-side trouser sack and walked in my garden and started counting the steps. I bunged after a couple of rounds when I had counted 485 steps and looked at the iPod. It had recorded 487 steps! The pedometer in fact works. I then held it in my hand tiresome to keep it as steady as possible as I walked watching the screen. The iPod faithfully recorded my every step. I marvel how Apple did this gimmick as I do not know of any pedometer which can do that.

I plugged in the iPod in my inMotion im5 Altech speaker dock and it played some fantastic music. But the radio did not work on the dock. I place in the earphones and the radio worked. It doubtless uses the earphone wires as some kind of an aerial. I then tried it out plugging the iPod in the speaker owing to the aux. input with a cord which could serve as an aerial, but the radio still did not work.

I then plugged in my iTrip FM transmitter onto the iPod and set the frequency at 100 MH. This worked well when my radio was switched on to the same frequency. I switched on the FM radio in my car and played from the iPod Louis Armstrong’s ‘When the Saints go Marching By’ as a salute to Apple Inc. for the iPod awesome sight.

On the whole I am pleased that I bought the iPod nano. It will be my companion in my sack wherever I go. I have shed my dread and the small aversion I had for the Apple manufactured goods. Kudos to Apple Inc. for coming up with a fantastic matter-of-fact and useful manufactured goods for beyond the music-lover customers!

I immediately plugged it into a DVD player and watched Blackhawk Down on my desk—literally, on it, as I aimed it at my white Ikea desktop. (Ah, to be owned by a Swedish company.) It also worked on the wall, on a piece of 8.5-by-11-inch printer paper and on the back of my colleague, Doug.

3M had been preparation to make a proper periodical in a few weeks, which is why we held off talking about it. But their German rift got so begeistert about the new manufactured goods that they just spit out their own periodical.

Descriptions were discernable up to about 11 inches crosswise, even under our sharp glowing office illumination. But they were beyond doubt faded. And some movie scenes were downright indecipherable. The same went for photos. I’m sweet sure the prototype 3M loaned me at CES in January was brighter as I was able to exhibit it all owing to a presentation under sharp illumination to a few hundred people. But I’ll have to do more tests to know for sure. (Even if it’s less than ideal, kudos to 3M for making it work.)

In a dark room, it could project a huge enough image to be the ultimate cheap-o home acting. The projector will sell for a mere 9. It doesn’t have a speaker, so you’ll have to get that unconnectedly. But really, how excellent could a infinitesimal speaker jammed into this thing sound, anyhow?
The MPro110 is sweet basic looking on the further than—just a grey box. But it gets the job down. A VGA input lets you plug in a mainframe; and the composite video jack will take output from a digital camera, PSP, iPod, iPhone, or most any handheld device (even if video-out is still sweet rare on cellphones). A thumbwheel on the front allows you to focus.

So many companies have been promising sack projectors with exotic technologies—from Microvision with its lasers and infinitesimal mirrors, to Texas Instruments with DLP chips (and lasers) to Light Blue Optics with holograms (no kidding). It’s amusing that 3M just swooped in and grabbed the promote while its competitors still haven’t gotten past trade-show demos. They made do with an LED lamp and small LCoS screens—a alteration of the LCD tech that’s been in digital projectors since the early days.
